This is my first post of my blog. Here I write on the main happenings around me and in the media.
Jaswant book, Mr. Jinnah and BJP
Here comes the first issue crippling the largest opposition party of India, BJP and riven by the infightings leaving the government without powerful opposition in this crucial time as it working on National security and Economic reforms. The so called Modus Operandi of Jaswant singh- The Jinnah, India Partition, Independence created this furore. The BJP expelled Jaswant Singh saying it brook no dissent after Shimla meeting. This lead to huge criticisms across individuals, recriminations and intense media coverage followed soaring the sales of the book and strife the already rout hit BJP. The BJP did not tolerate their stalwart calling Mr Jinnah a secular and commenting Vallabhai Patel, then Home minister of Independent India. These followed with dig at the BJP head Advani. Mr Singh reminded the event in 2006 Advani himself proclaiming in front of Mr Jinnah's cemetery that 'Jinnah is Secular'. Similarly the recriminations and accusations continued within the party. As if its not enough Jaswant sent missiles on to Advani like 'lying to nation' on the issue of terrorists swap for Kandhar hijacked plane, which intensified the issue leading to the cracks to the party and its leadership. It is totally absurd for BJP for considering expelling the Jaswant and it did not find out the facts about the book about the sources of its research and it should have asked the party historians to look into the book and also should have asked the Jaswant to give explanation about the book if found something against the party ideology. As no one expected the Revisionism of Jaswant will end up making him more popular.
One should remember here what happens if it is proved that Mr Jinnah is secular or not secular and brainstorming on the events in history gives nothing, as it is already happened nothing constructive is coming out of it. The point is digging out the history for some useless facts does give nothing instead of worrying about the serious issues people facing now and the future. So it will be helpful and good for the people of India if the parties and analysts concentrate on the current issues and problems faced like drought and poverty..etc.
